Offices that take your departure report in Belgium

Go to the municipality where you are registered now

The report is made where you currently live, so the right office depends on your Belgian address. Towns handle it differently: a walk-in counter, an emailed form, an online request or a phone call first. Foreign residents hand in their residence card as part of it.

Ville de Verviers — Service des Étrangers

Place du Marché 55, 4800 Verviers

Contact the foreigners service by email or phone for an appointment, and explain whether you plan to return.

Have your identity or residence documents and planned departure details ready for the enquiry. Ask when to declare departure, which documents to bring, what happens to your card, and whether you need a departure certificate or return formalities. Do not use the separate radiation d’office procedure: it concerns removal when the municipality cannot locate someone’s main residence, not an ordinary voluntary departure.
