Offices that take your departure report in Belgium

Go to the municipality where you are registered now

The report is made where you currently live, so the right office depends on your Belgian address. Towns handle it differently: a walk-in counter, an emailed form, an online request or a phone call first. Foreign residents hand in their residence card as part of it.

Book a departure appointment shortly before you go, and expect a neighbourhood officer to check that you have left.

Bring your identity card and PIN and your new address abroad. For a child’s departure, arrange attendance by the person with parental authority. Keep the model 8 certificate for the relevant registration formalities abroad.
