Offices that take your departure report in Belgium

Go to the municipality where you are registered now

The report is made where you currently live, so the right office depends on your Belgian address. Towns handle it differently: a walk-in counter, an emailed form, an online request or a phone call first. Foreign residents hand in their residence card as part of it.

  • Mons

Administration communale de Mons – Population, État civil et Étrangers

    Rue Buisseret 2, 7000 Mons

Declare your departure one or two days before you leave, not earlier, because deregistration takes effect straight away.

For the email declaration provide the names and national-register numbers of the departing household members, full foreign address and both sides of your identity card. At the counter attend personally with your identity document and foreign address. The fee is €5 per household and processing is immediate; coordinate the date carefully because it changes your registration.
