Employment offices that assess unemployment benefit in Poland

Phone ahead to learn which desk handles your file

Benefit questions go to the benefits team of the county employment office. Offices organise claims differently: the desk or caseworker who looks after yours depends on the office, and you should be ready to show proof of past work and insurance, including time worked abroad.

Give the benefits department your work and insurance records when you register or when they ask for them.

Bring identity and registration details, employment certificates, evidence of how contracts ended, and earnings or contribution certificates where required. Include self-employment and foreign-insurance records and any decisions covering credited periods. The authority determines the amount, start and duration; the ordinary duration is 180 days, with 365 days for specified groups. Payments are made monthly in arrears to a payment account.
