Phone ahead to learn which desk handles your file

Benefit questions go to the benefits team of the county employment office. Offices organise claims differently: the desk or caseworker who looks after yours depends on the office, and you should be ready to show proof of past work and insurance, including time worked abroad.

Register as unemployed in person or online, and have your benefit entitlement assessed at the same time.

Bring employment certificates and evidence of earnings and contributions where relevant. Depending on your history, PUP (county labour office) may also need ZUS (Poland’s social insurance institution) certificates, business closure or suspension details, and records of benefits received after employment ended.
