Employment offices that assess unemployment benefit in Poland

Phone ahead to learn which desk handles your file

Benefit questions go to the benefits team of the county employment office. Offices organise claims differently: the desk or caseworker who looks after yours depends on the office, and you should be ready to show proof of past work and insurance, including time worked abroad.

Arrange your registration visit by phone, and mention any work in another EU or EEA country.

Prepare employment certificates, dates and reasons employment ended, wage and contribution-base evidence and relevant ZUS (Poland’s social insurance institution) benefit or business records. Declare foreign employment and provide any U1 plus contracts or payslips; ask the regional labour office about obtaining missing coordination evidence. Do not assume every employment day counts or that the same payment duration applies to everyone. Give the payment-account details required by the office and retain the decision.
