Employment offices that assess unemployment benefit in Poland

Phone ahead to learn which desk handles your file

Benefit questions go to the benefits team of the county employment office. Offices organise claims differently: the desk or caseworker who looks after yours depends on the office, and you should be ready to show proof of past work and insurance, including time worked abroad.

Declare all your work and insurance, abroad included, so the employment office can check whether you qualify.

Provide employment records, wages and contribution evidence, dates and reasons jobs ended, and relevant business or ZUS (Poland’s social insurance institution) benefit documents. Give the evidence of foreign periods requested by the office, including a U1 where applicable; ask how missing confirmation can be obtained. Do not assume every day worked counts. Report changes affecting entitlement and retain the formal decision and payment information.
