Where to register as unemployed or as a jobseeker in Poland

Come early if you register in person, as daily tickets can run out

Registration happens at the county employment office that covers your address. Choose a city to see whether its office hands out numbered tickets, stops taking registrations earlier than the building closes, or lets you apply online with an electronic signature.

  • Białystok

    Powiatowy Urząd Pracy w Białymstoku

    ul. Wiewiórcza 107, 15-532 Białystok

Foreign citizens need the appropriate residence document. Part-time work, civil contracts, self-employment, benefits and disability can require additional evidence, including earnings or contribution records. Scan the complete relevant documents for an online application and follow the current checklist.

  • Bielsko-Biała

    Powiatowy Urząd Pracy w Bielsku-Białej

    ul. Partyzantów 55, 43-300 Bielsko-Biała

Come with your completed application and documents and take a ticket in the hall, or register online.

Bring the completed application and status-specific checklist. Jobseekers should prepare ID, residence/contact details, qualifications, work certificates and any relevant work restrictions or disability documents; foreign nationals also need residence-status evidence. For online unemployed registration, attach all required scans and sign the application and attachments electronically. Saving an application or sending it incomplete does not register you as unemployed.

Use the official checklist for your circumstances and prepare all required evidence. Online, sign the application and attachments with a qualified, trusted or personal electronic signature. Ordinary email is not the application channel. Keep your submission confirmation and respond to requests for missing information; if already registered elsewhere, clarify the transfer rather than attempting simultaneous registrations. The current checklist includes identity and contact/address details, education or qualification records and employment certificates. For part-time or relevant contract work, prepare employer evidence of earnings and social-insurance/Fundusz Pracy contributions. Foreign applicants need the residence document establishing eligibility; other papers depend on the individual history.

  • Chorzów

    Powiatowy Urząd Pracy w Chorzowie

Use the employment agency as a jobseeker, in person or online, which is a different status from being unemployed.

Bring valid identity evidence and all registration documents in originals and copies; employment certificates are an example, not the whole checklist. For online filing, attach all pages, sign the application and attachments, and give a correct current telephone number. Follow any request to clarify missing information. Ordinary email and ePUAP are not accepted formal correspondence routes under the office’s 2026 notice; use the admitted praca.gov.pl form or e-Doręczenia (Poland’s electronic delivery system) for correspondence.

For full online registration, attach scans of every required document and sign the application and attachments using an accepted electronic signature. An unsigned or incomplete request is not the same as completed registration. Part-time or civil-contract work may need an employer certificate of earnings and social-insurance/Labour Fund contributions; former businesses may need ZUS (Poland’s social insurance institution) contribution evidence.

Part-time work may require monthly contribution-base evidence or RMUA reports. Depending on your history, include ZUS (Poland’s social insurance institution) contribution or benefit-period evidence, disability certification and relevant business/KRS records.
