Offices that renew or replace driving licences in Belgium

Online first in many towns, a counter visit when needed

Some municipalities send you to the online route before offering a counter visit, and the checks differ for lost, stolen and damaged licences. Each office explains whether you must apply in person and how you collect the new licence.

Attend in person at the counter, or check whether BelDrive can handle your renewal online.

Bring identification and your current licence if available. The city’s duplicate procedure requires a police loss or theft certificate; check what evidence applies to your situation. Ask whether your existing identity-card photo and signature can be reused or whether an updated photo is needed. Do not treat an application receipt as permission to drive, and confirm any medical or category-specific documents before applying. After a BelDrive application, collect the licence personally; a representative cannot collect it by proxy.
