Where to request a cohabitation certificate in Belgium

Kiosk, online or counter: it depends on your town

Some town halls let you print the certificate at a self-service kiosk, others deliver it digitally at once when you sign in, and a few expect a phone call or a booked slot. The certificate proves that the declaration of legal cohabitation was made, and it can be used abroad once it is legalised or given an apostille.

    Campus Blairon 200, 2300 Turnhout

Request it online, or phone to collect it at reception the next working day if online ordering does not work.

Bring your identity card or residence permit for your own certificate. For someone else’s certificate, bring their written authorisation and original identity card, together with your own identity card. Ask what evidence is required for guardians, professional representatives or statutory applications. For use abroad, ask the receiving authority whether legalisation, an apostille or translation is needed. No fee is published, so ask whether there is a local charge.
