Offices for jobseekers in Iceland

Regional service offices, with most help starting online

Iceland’s public employment service works through regional offices of the Directorate of Labour (Vinnumálastofnun). Registration starts online, and you then ask for a counselling meeting through your account. Offices are organised by region, so look for the one that covers your town and confirm any appointment before you travel.

Start online through the agency’s electronic service, then ask for counselling if you want help finding work.

My Pages accepts electronic ID, the ID app or an ID card. If you cannot sign in, contact the Directorate for help. For your discussion with a counsellor, have your contact details, work experience, education, skills and the kinds of work you are seeking ready. These are useful preparation, not a substitute for the evidence requested in a benefit application.
