Offices that exchange foreign driving licences in Belgium

Each municipality has its own first step

The exchange is handled by the municipality where you are registered, and each office has its own first step: an assessment visit, your licence details sent in first, or an online application. It also pays to ask the desk what it expects of a sworn translation before you order one.

Administration communale de Tournai – Population et Étrangers

    Rue Saint-Martin 52, 7500 Tournai

Go to the central office for a non-European licence, which the district branches cannot handle.

The branch opens on Thursday afternoons only, so phone ahead to confirm your visit and any appointment.

Bring your identity or residence document and original European licence, or the Belgian police loss/theft certificate where relevant. If expired, ask about the issuing country’s licence attestation. Bring a current ICAO photo if the identity-document photo no longer resembles you; district applications use paper photographs.
