Where to start an unemployment claim in Belgium

Public fund offices by city, with their walk-in and booking rules

Each public fund office covers certain postcodes and keeps its own mix of walk-in days and appointments. For each office you can see who it serves, how to ask for help with a first claim and what to bring. Trade unions also take claims, at their own offices.

Ask at the information desk which documents you need, and note that postal handling goes through Antwerp.

Bring identity or residence documentation, any relevant work permit, bank-account number and proof of jobseeker registration. For full unemployment after work, prepare C1 and the applicable C4, C6 or C109. Ask which forms apply if your history differs. Keep your national-register number ready when calling +32 2 225 25 25.
